
Apply for MasterChef UK: The Professionals
If you aren’t an amateur chef, there’s always MasterChef UK’s spin-off series The Professionals - and applications for the next series in 2023 are now open.
Presiding over the UK’s most recognised cooking competition will be Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, the acclaimed chef and restaurateur Anna Haugh, and of course, MasterChef UK judge, Gregg Wallace.
In the final, the judges will accept nothing less than spectacular perfection as contestants produce their best three course menu, in order to crown one chef the MasterChef: The Professional champion.
To apply for MasterChef The Professionals you need to be aged at least 20 and have worked for at least two years as a chef in a professional kitchen and/or have the following minimum qualifications: NVQ LEVEL 3 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.

If you’ve ever fancied wearing that iconic MasterChef apron and baking, roasting or frying your way to success, you could be in with a chance - As well as being 18 or over, and an amateur chef, here’s what you need to know.
You must not have a NVQ or other professional catering qualification acquired within the last 10 years, worked full time as a chef or run a food or catering business, nor have never had a main source of income from preparing and cooking fresh in a professional environment.

First airing in early 2023, this new addition to the MasterChef universe sees an array of new and exciting challenges for the up-and-comers (all aged between 18 and 25), as well as feature well-known and world-renowned foodie guests throughout the series. Fronted by judges Poppy O’Toole, who trained as a chef in a Michelin-starred kitchen and rose to fame on TikTok, and professional chef and Great British Menu finalist Kerth Gumbs, Young MasterChef UK sees a new generation of foodies are rewriting the rules.
Applications for Young MasterChef UK are open to people from all backgrounds with a passion for food. No experience or training is necessary. Those working part time in the food industry, for example at a street food market, food truck or food hall, with their own home based food business, or with a supporting role in a café, catering business, fast food outlet or pub can apply. You also need to be aged between 18 and 24 (as of 1st July 2023), not professional, nor working full time in a restaurant kitchen.
